Application Component Status – Received

Navigation: Tools > Smart Search

Scenario: Identify all students who have completed their 2022 application and submitted all required application materials (application components), but Application Status is still marked Incomplete.

Define your Smart Search criteria

• Application Type = Regular
• Applicant Component Status = In Progress or Not Started
• Application Entry Term = Fall 2022
• Application Components Required = Application and transcripts
• Application Component = Received

 

Build your Smart Search 

Add a Linked Group

1. Click   
2. Select Linked Group
   
   
   
   
3. Click  to remove Group 1. Linked Group 2 becomes Linked Group 1 (Application).
   
   
   
   
4. Add the criteria for Linked Group 1
   
   
   1. Condition 1: Application – Type
   2. Operator: Contains any of
   3. Condition Value: Regular Decision
   4. Field: Active
   5. Primary: Yes or Any
   6. Click  to add another condition 
   7. Condition 2: Application – Component Status
   8. Operator: Contains any of
   9. Condition Values: In Progress, Not Started
   10. Field: Active
   11. Primary: Yes or Any
   12. Click  to add another condition 
   13. Condition 3: Application – Application Entry Term
   14. Operator: Contains any of
   15. Condition Values: Fall 2022
   16. Field: Active
   17. Primary: Yes or Any
       
       
       

 

Add Nested Linked Groups

1. Click   
2. Select Nested Linked Group. A Linked Group 1.1 (Application Component) will display.
   
   
   
   
3. Repeat step 1 until you have enough nested linked groups to match each required component (i.e., if you have two required components; application and transcript, you will need two Nested Linked Groups to create the criteria for your Smart Search).
4. Add the criteria for Linked Group 1.1
   
   
   1. Condition 1: Application Component – Component
   2. Operator: Contains any of
   3. Condition Value: Application Form
   4. Click  to add another condition 
   5. Condition 2: Application Component – Received
   6. Operator: Equals
   7. Condition Values: Yes
      
      
5. Repeat step 4 for additional components
6. Click Save Changes or Run
   
   
   

 

Results

Tip: Use the Smart Search Results as a list to return to the students record to update the Application Component Status to Completed. Right-click the Full Name to open the record.
